💭 My 2 Cents: One of the biggest benefits of running a Shopify store is the access to 3rd party apps that solve seemingly every issue a merchant runs across. This app offers a one-stop-shop for all page speed optimizer and SEO tools (i.e. image ALT text, photo resize, lazy load, etc.). It has a strong reputation with 5/5 stars and over 1400 reviews. I like that there is a team of 12 already working on the app, since response rates and customer service are crucial for the success of Shopify apps. I’d want to understand what churn looks like and dig into what the future roadmap consists of.

3/ 5 Self Service Car Washes With Land, Car Wash Distribution Co, Self-Storage

💭 My 2 Cents: This business includes 5 self-serve car washes, and altogether, these five car washes boast 26 self-serve bays, 3 in-bay automatics, and one dog wash. The business comes with land valued at $2 million, a 2500 sqft commercial building, and a car wash supply distribution company that grossed $1.2 million in 2022. I like that self-service car washes require minimal staffing (and therefore, less overhead). What‘s interesting is the seller is offering up to 50% seller financing.

💭 My 2 Cents: I like tree servicing because it’s an always-in-demand business (since trees require routine maintenance). But I didn’t realize until recently how high the margins on tree servicing were! This business serves 370 customers a year, and 90-95% of customers are repeat. The customer mix is also appealing, as 90% of its clients are commercial (usually requiring year-round maintenance) and only 10% are residential (which can be more seasonal). The business currently does virtually no marketing, which is an opportunity for a new buyer who wants to continue building the customer base.

5/ Highly Profitable Property Management Company - Lender Pre-Qualified

💭 My 2 Cents: This long-established business of almost 40 years manages over 1,100 residential condominium units. What I like about property management companies is they operate on long-term contracts, and these contracts can be very sticky as long as the company does a good job. In this case, I like that they combine property management services with construction and repair projects, so they don’t need to leverage 3rd party contractors for maintenance work. What’s also great is there is a loyal team in place. Plus, the business is trading at a very reasonable multiple!
