The margins are exceptional on this business, and they have over 600 accounts. I’d want to dig into what the contracts look like with these accounts, what the team looks like, as well as any potential staffing concerns (how difficult is it to hire new technicians?).

💭 My 2 Cents: They say the riches are in the niches. Well, this is definitely a niche business! I like that it has been around for over 40 years and is being sold by a retiring owner in his 70s, which means the business likely has a strong reputation with loyal, repeat customers. It would probably help to have some background in aerospace parts, but the business does already come with tenured staff.

💭 My 2 Cents: I like that this business distributes products to a large customer base of 800+ B2B customers all around the country. This is likely a great fit for an independent sponsor or someone looking to not be a day-to-day owner/operator, as the business comes with a President, Controller, Purchasing Manager, Sales Director, and a full warehouse and shipping team. Plus, the seller is willing to roll over some equity as a show of good faith in the ongoing success of the business, which is always a positive sign.

💭 My 2 Cents: A couple of you have reached out with interest in acquiring CPA firms, and I’m happy to share I came across a great deal this week that’s priced very well. I like that the selling principal is willing to stay on in a Managing Partner role or a production role for 3-5 years if desired, which is great for client retention and derisks the transition. I’d want to investigate the client concentration as well as revenue split across the financial statement services, tax services and advisory services they offer.

💭 My 2 Cents: I just learned about homeowner association management, but it has all the elements of a business I love. There’s an immediate growth opportunity to raise prices since the fees are currently under market. Plus, the business has an established team of 17 employees. I’d want to dig into what the sales process and cycle are like to bring on new HOAs.
